Each legislative body of the region's member communities selects one representative to the Rutland Regional Planning Commission's Board of Commissioners. Each Commissioner has one vote and all communities are voting members without qualification. In addition, the Commission also designates up to five areas representing area wide citizen interests and invites organizations representing those interests to send representatives to the Commission. Currently there are representatives for Natural Resources, Housing/Low Income, and Libraries.
The Board of Commissioners holds monthly meetings on the third Tuesday of every month, beginning at 7:00 p.m., at the Commission's offices. Meetings are not held in July, August, or December. The Regional Issues and Community Issues committees meet on the same day beginning at 5:30 p.m. The Executive/Finance Committee meets the second Tuesday of every month (year-round) at 5:30 p.m. Members of the public are invited to attend all meetings.
