Rutland Region Brownfields Reuse Program

Brownfields are real property, the expansion, redevelopment, or reuse of which may be complicated by the presence or potential presence of a hazardous substance, pollutant, or contaminant.  Cleaning up and reinvesting in these properties protects the environment, reduces blight, and takes development pressures off greenspaces and working lands.

The Brownfields Reuse Program provides redevelopment assistance to Brownfields sites in the Rutland Region.  Since 2004, the program has invested $1.5 million in funding to enrolled sites for environmental site assessments (ESAs), remediation planning and redevelopment assistance.

The Brownfields Reuse Program was recently awarded $200,000 in Community-Wide Assessment funding.  We are looking for sites in the Rutland Region with high redevelopment potential.
